The beautiful artwork displayed on this website is a collection from students in Sierra Leone and in Canada . Students worked to create images of what peace means to them. The main goal of this project was to connect students from two very different places. By concentrating on peace education a sense of global and social awareness was created, inspiring children to help others and be accepting of differences. I wanted students to see that even though we come from two very different places on the globe, have different life experiences, eat different foods, live in different homes and attend different schools, that we are more similar than they may think. Through the creation of art, students are able to see that we all feel love, happiness, sadness and we all have the same desires for a happy, healthy and peaceful world.
